"There are two sorts of Tyranny:
a real one, which consists in the violence of the government,
and one of opinion,
which is felt when those who govern establish things that run counter to a nation's way of thinking"

Over time, the "progressive" State's power has grown by convincing voters that government can provide "more" rights at the ballot box.
FDR actually had what he called a "second bill of rights", which proposed 8 new rights, determined and regulated by the federal government. He called them "economic rights", which wholly contradicts the free market and a free society.
Today, the Obama administration presents a glaring example of this, in its recent ruling that under the new national health care law, women are to be provided with "free" contraception.
"As for who is picking up the extra cost, White House advisors say they don't believe the changes will impact premiums -- but ultimately, that decision will be made by insurance companies."
ABC NEWS
Now many will hear of this and say "free is good", and flip back to Entertainment Tonight for the latest tweet from Lady Gaga. You see this headline though and say, "how is something being made free to some, not going to end up costing others?"
My health care premium$, and your$, will go up to pay for this right to birth control.
Our federal government has essentially added another "right", which over time will cause women to believe that something free should not be taken away from them.
This is backwards... It is a mandate that forces everyone else to pay more in order to provide this new perk for some. (I hear the Greeks HAD a lot of perks too...)
In the news today, this story is discussed in the media as the Catholic church being furious that they must now pay for employees contraception, a contradiction to their beliefs.
It's irrelevant whether you believe or understand why the church does not support contraception, and especially the abortion inducing drug, because they are obviously free to do what they want.
But now after the government decree, proclaiming all women have the right to contraception, churches loose their right to choose, and must now pay for something they don't support.
If you use this example with a small business, they are now told that the cost of insuring an employee has gone up due to a provision in the democrats' health care bill.
So who benefits from the mandate?
Women who see it as free, which equals democrat votes. Also the drug company's who helped craft the bill, and now have a market for their product with a customer/patient who does not see cost in consuming it endlessly.
Who gets hurt by it?
Both the employer, who must now pay more for something that is not a necessity,
and all those paying for something collectively that is not in line with their beliefs.
Not to mention the women who may face negative side effects from taking this type of drug.
Now this is only one example, but it is a simple one to look at objectively and say: the federal government is way to involved in what we consider to still be a FREE society. What the President proposes in terms of "free" has a very different meaning.
Now if you still say birth control should be free for all...
go get the confused occupiers out of the streets, and give them a job raising charitable donations to the "Give a Pill" foundation.
That's an original idea, but you can take it. It can be a non-profit organization, and you can go hunt down all the people screaming for higher taxes, and tell them to donate to your cause. You may have to work though...
Ask Johnson and Johnson if you can buy it in bulk.
But don't tell me that we just gave women the "right" to birth control in this country without first going through the process of an amendment to the constitution.
Our God given rights are not negotiable, and our government has a duty to protect those alone. Free people can figure out how to get contraception to those who need it, they just can't use the federal government as the answer.
Remember this?
